obit highlights -
Dorothy E. Plath, 73, passed away 30 Nov 1991 from a heart attack. [While driving her car.] Born 20 Oct 1918 in Forsyth, she was the second oldest child of Orrel Straw and Nellie Fay Smith Straw. She married Arthur L. Plath of Shepherd on 19 June 1938. In 1945 they moved to Philipsburg, MT and in 1969 back to Shepherd and the Plath Farm. She was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Shepherd; the Senior Citizens club; the Daughters of the American revolution and the Pine View Homemakers Club. She also worked weekends in the St. Vincent Hospital gift shop.
She loved to travel and visited Mexico, Alaska, NYC, Philadelphia, Wash DC, Canada and Hawaii. Her last trip, cut short by a heart attack, was a tour of Europe which included England, Holland and Germany in the Fall of 1990.
Survivors include sons Tom (Roseanne) and Russ (Susan) and daughters Judy (Mrs Jim Carroll) and Betsey (Mrs Bob Raymond); also nine grandchildren. Also survived by brothers James, Paul and Wilbur and sisters Margaret, June, Jean, Winnie and Rosie.
Preceded in death by husband Arthur; daughter Janet and two sisters: Helen and Sara.
Services at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Shepherd with burial in Shepherd Cemetery.

Dorothy married Arthur Louis Plath on 19 Jun 1938 in Billings, Yellowstone County, Montana. (Arthur Louis Plath was born on 20 Feb 1909 in Mountain Lake, Cottonwood County, MN, died on 16 Nov 1978 in Billings, Yellowstone County, Montana and was buried in Lutheran Cemetery in Shepherd, MT.)
