WINAMAC - Donald T. (Pete) Straw, 74, 462 Liberty St., Culver, died Thursday at 10 a.m. at his residence. Born Sept. 19, 1907, in Winamac, he was the son of Herbert, and Annie Lebo Straw. On Dec. 18, 1935, in Winamac, he was married to Grace Kistler, who survives. He had been a resident of Culver for the past two months. Prior to that time, he had been a resident of Syracuse for five years and of Culver for 12 years. A retired employee of the C and 0 Railroad after 47 years, he was a member of the Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employees and the Eagles Lodge, Culver. Surviving with the wife are three daughters, Joyce Smith, Syracuse: Carol Minarik, Culver; and Sandra Herner, Greenwood; three brothers, Russell, Lake Cicott; Richard, Winamac; and William, Miles, Mich.; and eight grandchildren. Two sisters preceded him in death. Services will be Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Frain Mortuary with the Rev. John Sargent officiating. Burial will be in McKinley Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
