Marjorie I. Bair, age 91, of Chesterton, IN died May 29, 2003 at 5:15 AM at Waters of Duneland, Chesterton, IN. She was born June 22, 1911 in Winamac, to Harry and Pearl Markley Straw. Married Merle Francis Bair Sept. 15, 1936 in Kokomo, IN, who died Aug. 21, 1984. Survivors include: son, Melvin G. (Jane) Bair and granddaughter, Melonie (Thomas) Marchak, both of Chesterton; grandson Steven Bair of Chicago; great grandchildren: Zachary Werner and Melissa, Kelsey, Elena and Tyler Marchak. Preceded in death by husband, parents and sisters, Mary Combs and Maxine Seidel of Winamac.
Funeral services Monday, June, 2, 2003, 11:00 AM at the Frain Mortuary, 305 East Main St., Winamac, IN. Pastor Steve Loft officiating. Burial will follow in the Reed Cemetery in Winamac. Visitation at the funral home will be on Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 PM and after 8:00 AM on Monday.
Mrs. Bair was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Order of Eastern Star #96, a Home Extension Club, all of Winamac. She lived all of her life in Winamac, moving to Chesterton in 1998 to live with her son.
