(Straw) Colbert, 76, of Peabody died on Thursday, February 3, 2022 at the Rosewood Nursing Home in Peabody. She was the loving wife to the late Peter A. Colbert with whom she shared 30 years of marriage. Born in Beverly to the late Raymond and Ruth (Wannamaker) Straw, Judy was a graduate of Beverly High School, Class of 1964. She went on to study hairdressing and later found work as a purchasing agent for United Shoe and Tannin Corp. Judy loved music, especially Josh Groban. Some of her favorite songs include "To Where You Are", "You Raise Me Up", and "You are Loved". A song that her beloved husband Peter would dedicate to her would be "I Just Called to Say I Love You." Judy is survived by her siblings, Lesley Straw of Pembroke, NH, and George Straw of NH. She is also survived by her nephew Jason Straw and his wife Michelle; and great nieces Isabelle and Anaiis Straw. Judy is predeceased by her great nephew Jake Straw and sister-in-law Joann Straw. A graveside funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at North Beverly Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours for Judy will be held prior at the Campbell Funeral Home 525 Cabot Street Beverly, from 11:00a.m. to 12:00p.m. in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Judy's name to MA SPCA.
