24 Sept 1850 census Schroon, NY - John age 31 ; lumberman born NH with wife Luthery age 26; Franklin 10; Henry 8; Adelade 6; Jane 4; Thomas 2 and Ellen age 4/12. Also in HH was Lewis Wilson age 29

In March of 1852 , his father William of Crown Point sells to John of Schroon (NOTE: THE town of Schroon was formed from Crown Point on March 20th, 1804.) the south half of lot #56 in Sumner's Vale, 50 acres being "same farm on which I have resided for a long time past," and also part of Lot 43 pending payment of mortgage. This lot 43 is then passed down by John to his son Henry.

Also listed as living in this HH are Julia Moore (his widowed DIL) and her son Hoseah age 7; also 5 borders: Amanda Fuller age 36 and Jeremiah Fuller age 47; Jeremiah O'Connell age 49 [born in England] and his wife Emily age 48 and a daughter named Bertha age 12. Also John's daughter Harriet age 23 and her husband Charles Underhill age 30. Charles and John are listed as farmers.

1892 Crown Point, NY - John age 74 living with son Eddie and family

In the Penfield Museum in Ironville, Crown Point, NY there is a collection of obituaries for the area for the years between 1880 & 1905. A John Moore is listed as having died in February of 1899 at 80 years of age. His father's name is listed as William and mother Betsey. All three are listed as being born in New Hampshire. (Possible confusion between cousins (?) John b 1822 and John b 1824) = WJM quotes a note, author unknown: "John Moore was born April 7, 1824. William, his father, was 37 years old. It would appear that the birth took place in New Hampshire, possibly Hopkinton or Weare. When John was about 20 he married Luthera Taft. She was born in 1822 and therefore slightly older than her husband and she probably came from the Crown Point area. There were at least four children from this union, as noted in the Ironville Cemetery records: (1) Thomas L, b 1845, died at 9 from drowning; (2) Ellen, b1850, d 1854; (3) J Sandford, b1853, d 1877 - age 24; (4) Ida, b1859, d 1864. This line may have died out without descendants. The above members of this family are all buried in the Ironville Cem [per research of Connie Fraser re: DOB - Record at Crown Point Clerk's Office shows John's age at death (26 Feb 1899) as 80 yrs, 10 mos and 19 days which would make his birthday 7 April 1819]

per his obit (TICONDEROGA SENTINEL): came to Crown Point from NH when he was 6 yrs old. died at age 81 yrs.
Obit (handwritten and found in Penfield Homestead Museum)... "survived by 4 children ( Edward and Henry of Ironville and Frank and Harriet of MN), 19 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren". [funeral held at Congregational Church]
