Gertrude Straw, 88, died Sunday at Genises Elder Care Nursing Home here.
She was born in Portland, Maine, and attended Hinckley (Maine) Academy. She was a bookkeeper for Oakhurst Dairy and later for the Jewish Home for the Aged, both in Portland.
She was an avid square dancer and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
She was a member of the former St. Lawrence Congregational Church at Munjoy and Congress streets in Portland.
Her husband, Warren Straw, died previously.
Surviving are a son, Henry Straw of Lebanon; a daughter, Brenda Gasaway of Snowhomish, Wash.; and four grandchildren.
There will be no visiting hours. Private burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Falmouth, Maine. Arrangements are by Hay and Peabody Funeral Home, Portland.

Gertrude married Warren Wesley Straw, son of Frederick Augustus Straw and Harriet Alice Fletcher, on 12 Jun 1936 in Portland, Cumberland County, Maine.
