WORCESTER -- Gertrude L. (Flinn) Strew, 82, of 1050 Main St., died Saturday, March 2, in The Odd Fellows Home.
She leaves two sons, George F. Mayo of Oxford and Clayton A. Strew of Hyannis; five daughters, Lois L. Carey of Worcester, June L. Ferguson of the Jefferson section of Holden, Marline M. Nahkala of West Yarmouth, Joan M. Emmett of Naples, Fla., and Alberta M. Beggs of the Osterville section of Barnstable; two sisters, Opel M. Day of Palmer and Gloria Goss of Groton; 26 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. A daughter, Lydia M. Bachand, died in 1994. Another daughter, Mary Lou ``Betty'' Rattie, died in 1999. She was born in Island Pond, Vt., daughter of Peter and Viola (Smith) Flinn, and lived most of her life in Worcester.
Mrs. Strew was a member of the Ten Fifty Club at 1050 Main St. and was a former member of the Salvation Army.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 7, in Morrison-Morin Funeral Home, 1131 Main St., Leicester. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. A calling hour is 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, March 7, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Diabetes Association, 330 Congress St., fifth floor, Boston, MA 02210.

Gertrude married Walter William Strew, son of William Melbourne Strew and Leah Abigail Placey, on 18 Nov 1942 in Wells River, Orange County, Vermont. (Walter William Strew was born on 3 Nov 1884 in Melbourne, Quebec, Canada, died on 19 Nov 1960 in Caledonia County, Vermont and was buried in McIndoe Falls Cemetery in Barnet, Caledonia County, Vermont.)
