ASHLAND '96 David Ray "Dave" Straw, 66, died suddenly in Papillion on Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2003. Straw was born July 7, 1936, in Nemaha County, near Peru, to Raymond and Mary (Beason) Straw. He attended Nemaha County Public Schools. Straw was united in marriage to Sally Snow on Feb. 15, 1964, at the Christian Church in Auburn. They were married by the bride's oldest brother, Howard Snow. Straw was preceded in death by his father and his grandparents, Lonnie and Mollie Beason. Services were held Saturday, Feb. 1 at the First Christian Church in Ashland with the Rev. Roy Paterik officiating. Ashland American Legion Post 129 gave military rites and interment was at the Ashland Cemetery. Marcy Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
