Earl Henry Newling

  General Notes:

"I am looking for Newlings that seem to originate in New Hampshire. I can find nothing. I recently received my father-in-laws birth certificate, his name was Earl Henry Newling, born Febuary 16, 1894, in Wakefield, New Hampshire, his father is listed as Charles Henry Newling, born in Effingham, New Hampshire, and his mother was Etta M. Straw born in Barnstead, New Hampshire. Earl H. Newling was apparently their second living child. There is nothing out there on Newlings in New Hampshire. I am trying to find a link somewhere. Ray, my husband, Earl's last living son, doesn't remember or never knew anything about his father's relatives. Does not recall ever meeting any of them. Earl Henry Newling was married to someone else, prior to marrying Ray's mother, Deborah Streeter. We also know that Earl Henry went to military school in the early 1900's somewhere in New Hampshire.(research of Lorene McDonald Newling)

"My grandmother Vera Otis Newling was married to Earl H Newling 5/20/14 His father was Charles Newling, his mother was Cynthia Eastman wo lived in Effingham, NH along with John Newling his father. I have some information on a birth certificate for Earl..... Earl Henry left Vera Otis with four children for Deborah Caroline Streeter. I am still trying to find the divorce, if there was one. In those years, it may have a lot of information, since it was not a No Fault situation... (L. McDonald Newling March 2005)

1910 Earl Henry may have been attending Brewster Military Academy as he does not appear with his HH in the census for Wakefield, Carroll, NH

1920 Somerville, Middlesex MA Earl H. Newling born NH; married to 21 year old Vera A with 4 10/12 yo son Wallace H, 2 7/12 yo Barbara and son Robert 1/12 yo. All born NH; Earl was a brakeman on a stream engine train. Earl was born 16 Feb 1894 & died in Pinellas Co., FL 4 Jan 1971.

Earl married Deborah Carolyn Streeter, daughter of Charles A. Streeter and Annie M. Pettingill, circa 1918. (Deborah Carolyn Streeter was born on 21 Sep 1897 in Merrimack County, New Hampshire, died on 1 Mar 1983 in St. Petersburg, Pinellas County, Florida and was buried in Woodlawn Memory Gardens in St. Petersburg, FL.)

Earl next married Vera A. Otis on 20 May 1914. (Vera A. Otis was born on 18 Mar 1898 in Rochester, Strafford County, New Hampshire and died in Oct 1979 in New Hampshire.)
