Josephine was the d/o Henry Thomas and Catherine (Monahan) Coleman. Her father was born in Maine and her mother born in Ireland.
Josephine was married in Boston to Charles Alonzo Straw and they had one son Charles A. Jr who graduated from Harvard Law School. After marrying Emma Kendall West of Vermont their son worked in the Patent office in Washington DC; was a lawyer in Akron OH for a rubber Co and then practiced law in NYC in Brooklyn. He and Emma are both buried in Vermont.
Josephine died widowed just before her 86th birthday in RI.

Josephine married Charles Alonzo Straw, son of Samuel Gunnison Straw and Harriet M. P. Smith, on 28 Nov 1877 in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts. (Charles Alonzo Straw was born on 2 Mar 1854 in Newbury, Merrimack County, New Hampshire, died on 26 Jan 1918 in Roxbury, Suffolk County, Massachusetts and was buried in Pleasant Street Cemetery in Claremont, New Hampshire.)
