Medina Co. Gazette - Jan 12, 1899: After a long battle with the dreaded disease, consumption, Mrs. W. S. Bowsher entered into rest Wednesday afternoon, Jan 4, 1899, at the home of her sister, Mrs. Elisha Beetle. Although Mrs. Bowsher had been declining for some time she was not confined to her bed until recently attacked by grip. Cornella Ryan was born Dec. 25, 1838 at Caledonia, N. Y. She was the eldest of a family of seven children, of whom one sister and three brothers survived her. When eighteen years of age, she was married to Bert McConnell. In 1861 Mr. McConnell enlisted in the civil war and served until his death in 1864. She remained a widow until 1873, when she was united in marriage to W. S. Bowsher. In 1882 Mr. and Mrs. Bowsher adopted the infant daughter of her sister, Mrs. Lucy Eckert, who died at her child's birth. They have spent the greater part of their married life in Sandusky, Oh. The funeral took place from the family resident of her sister Saturday. Rev. B. G. Mattson officated and interment was in Spring Grove Cemetery. Bowsher was born on 28 Dec 1840 in Bowsherville, Wyandot County, Ohio, died on 15 Aug 1922 in Pittsfield, Lorain County, Ohio and was buried on 17 Aug 1922 in Spring Grove Cemetery Medina, Medina County, Ohio, USA.). The cause of his death was arteriosclerosis; senility.
Cornella next married Bert McConnell in 1861. (Bert McConnell died in 1864.)
