source for this line: Internet darrow.little @ gte.net 2 June 2001: rec'd via e-mail I'm continuing to collect records for Lydia Sargent who married John Straw and for the Sargent family to identify her parents. You had indicated that she might be a daughter of William Sargent who married Mary Colby. I found a quit claim for William Sargent's children. Unfortunately, Lydia Straw was not one of those listed. An abstract follows.
Essex Co. MA Deeds v. 44 p. 142. William Sargent, Phillip Sargent, Jacob Sargent Jr. of Almsbury, Abraham Morrill and Elizabeth his wife of Salisbury for 45 pounds, quit claim to estate of our father William Sargent of Almsbury deceased which was made over to Henry Deering of Boston by mortgage; also to a lot of land at a place called Pourching Meadow Hill which lot was our fathers unto John Sanders of Haverhill & Mary Sargent of Almsbury widow & relict to Thomas Sargent late of Almsbury. 11 Jul 1720.
