July 2000 visit to McClain Cemetery - Headstone reads: IN MEMORY OF ABIJAH McCLAIN Who departed this life July 11th 1848. In the 94th year of his Age used to rise Stoop down my thoughts that Converse awhile with death Think how a gasping mortal lies And pants away his breath Jesus to thy dear faithful hand. My naked soul I trust. And my flesh waits for thy communion To drop into my dust.
Abijah married Pamela Doughty. (Pamela Doughty was born on 17 Mar 1759, died on 5 Jan 1835 and was buried in McClain Cemetery, Rice's Landing, Greene County, Pennsylvania.)
