Arthur SCHLEY, 43, Waushara County highway commissioner and former sheriff of the county, died Friday night at 11 o'clock at his home in Wautoma. His death followed a heart attack.
Mr Schley, who was born on Feb 19, 1925, in the Town of Richford, Waushara County, served as sheriff from 1957 to 1963. Since then he has been the county highway commissioner. As sheriff, he conducted the investigation of Plainfield's Ed Gein murder case 10 years ago.
Mr Schley spent his boyhood in Richford where he lived with Mr and *Mrs Charles LUHM. He was married on May 9, 1943, at Wautoma to Nita STRAW of the Plainfield area. They had lived in Wautoma since.
Surviving are his wife, three daughters, Mrs Larry (Patricia) DITTBURNER, Weslaco, Tex., and Mrs Jerry (Judith) CASWELL and Miss Nancy Schley, Wautoma; a brother, Fred Schley, Wautoma; two sisters, Mrs Elmer WEILAND, Richford, and Mrs Arthur MISCHKA, Wautoma, and two grandchildren.
Funeral services were held this afternoon at 2 o'clock at Peace Lutheran church, Wautoma, with the Rev Gerhardt Kaniess officiating. Burial took place in the Wautoma Union Cemetery.
