Testimony of Jacob Straw of Newbury, Merrimack county,NH [brother in law] age 79 years 11 Aug 1838
"I was well acquainted with Moses Chase late of Springfield...county of Windsor...state of Vermont deceased and Polly his wife now his widow and that said Polly is my sister...Moses Chase and Polly Straw were married in Hopkinton by Rev. Jacob Rice of Henniker, NH on the eighth day of January [1799]. that I was present when said amrraige was solemnized...at the time ...said Moses Chase was a resident of and owned land at Unity, NH where he moved his wife soon after their marriage and lived several years, that he moved his family from Unity to said Springfield where he lived till his death and where his widow the sadi Polly now lives."

Applied for pension 17 Sept 1832 while residing at Springfield, Windsor County, Vermont b. 30 Oct 1762 Concord, NH; married Polly Straw 8 Jan 1789 Hopkinton, NH; soldier d. 13 May 1845 Springfield, VT; wid 69 yrs in 1838

Moses married Mary Straw, daughter of Capt Jonathan Straw and Mary Carr, on 8 Jan 1789 in Hopkinton, Merrimack County, New Hampshire. (Mary Straw was born on 23 Jun 1769 in Rumford, NH and died on 25 Jun 1855 in Springfield, Windsor County, Vermont.)
