He was married to Elizabeth Stansberry, who preceded him in death. November 19, 1930 he was united in marriage to Bertha Wheeler Clark, who survives with one son, Arthur E. Burkhart, of Marion and two daughters, Mrs. Eva Foster, of Fostoria and Helen Coretta Burkhart, at home; two step-daughters, Mrs. Clara Evans, of Stanton, Michigan, and Mrs. Thelma Louise Clark, of Upper Sandusky; three grandchildren; one brother, Jacob Burkhart, of Fostoria, who is now vacationing in Douglas, Arizona, and two sisters, Mrs. E.I. Bear, of Fostoria, and Mrs. Sussie Weaver, of Marion. Preceding Mrs. Burkhart in death were an infant son, Carl Edward, and three sisters, Mrs. Catherine Parsell, Mrs. Stella Bogart, and Mrs. Lizzie Switzer.

Mr. Burkhart was employed as road maintenance man in Mifflin township. He was a member of the Shiloh Christian Union church and the York Street grange. He was affiliated with the Moose, Eagles and Macabees lodges at Fostoria.**

Charles married Elizabeth Stansberry, daughter of William Stansbery and Orilla Straw. (Elizabeth Stansberry was born on 19 Feb 1887, died on 16 Jun 1928 and was buried in Stansbery Cemetery; Mifflin twp; Wyandot County; Ohio.)
