Jacob married Rebecca J. Levanborg, daughter of Joseph Levanborg and Margaret Miller, on 8 Dec 1874. The marriage ended in divorce in 1907. (Rebecca J. Levanborg was born about 1851 in Iowa, died on 7 Jul 1919 in Iowa and was buried in Fairview Cemetery in Council Bluffs, Iowa.)
