Dorothy Louise (Knott) Pyle, 79 Mt. Vernon, completed her journey to be with the Lord on February 4, 2011 at the Community of Autumn Court, Mt. Vernon. She was born May 27, 1931 in Lawrence County to Edward and Blanche Knott, who preceded her in death. She was alongtime resident of the area and a 1949 graduate from Mt. Vernon High School. she was a graduate from Graft-Vo Tech in 1970 and recieved her Licensed Practical Nurse. She retired from the Missouri Rhabilitation Center in 1993. She was a member of the First Baptist Church , Mt. Vernon.
She married Norval Pyle May 28, 1949, he preceded her in death in 2006, she was also preceded in death by two daughters Beverly Nieman and Elizabeth Pyle, a brother Clifford Knott, and a sister Ruth Dawson.
Survivors include two daughters Brenda Pyle Mt. Vernon and Dorothy White of Springfield, six sons David Pyle and Dean Pyle Mt. Vernon, Dennis Pyle and Douglas Pyle of Joplin, Richard Pyle of Monettm and James Pyle of Cusshing OK, eight grandchildren and 12 great - grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday, February 7, 2011 at First Baptist Church Mt. vernon with burial in Summit Cemetery, Mt. Vernon. Arrangements are under the direction of Greenlawn Funeral Homes, Springfield, Missouri.

Dorothy married Norval Pyle on 28 May 1949 in Mt. Vernon, Lawrence County, Missouri. (Norval Pyle was born on 8 Dec 1926, died on 18 Jul 2006 in Lawrence County, Missouri and was buried in Summit Cemetery in Mt. Vernon, Lawrence County, Missouori.)
