Deceased Name: Barbara Marie Straw
Barbara Marie Straw, 68, of Nebraska City died at Sunrise Country Manor in Milford on July 6, 2012. She was born Feb. 27, 1944 at Bartlett, Iowa, to Wallace A. and Lillian M. (Bisnett) Maxwell.
She is survived by daughters Lori Ackley and husband Steve of Independence, Mo., and Janet Hagins of Nebraska City; sister Beverly Beck and husband Roger of Lincoln; four grandchildren; one great grandchild; special friend Leland Lawrence of Nebraska City; many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded by her parents and an infant daughter.
She lived in Tabor, Iowa, moving to Nebraska City in 1962. She was a nurse's aide at a nursing home. She enjoyed spending time with her family and her dog, Sammie.
Memorial services are at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 11, at Marshall Funeral Chapel in Nebraska City with Rev. Casey Karges officiating. Burial will be at the Thurman, Iowa, Cemetery.
No visitation will be held.
Memorials are suggested to First United Methodist Church in Nebraska City.
