Could he be a grandson of Israel and Ruth (Smith) Straw whose daughter Ruth m. Hercules Dam and they settled in Maine Prairie and are bur in the same cemetery as Thomas. [He would be a s/o of one of Israel's sons whose name I have not been able to find. If so Thomas would be a nephew of Ruth (Straw) Dam. It does not appear Thomas ever married.]
