from Noel's operator's license (Michigan # D12003 dated February 17, 1925) ; rersided in Cement City, Michgan. He was 5feet 7 inches tall, with Brown hair, blue eyes and weithed 150 pounds.
Noel was dischared from the US Army on the 1st day of July 1919 at Camp Custer Michigan. The discharge papers indicate that he was born in Paulding, Ohio. He received an Honorable discharge and at the time of the discharge he was single. He enlisted in the service on July 14, 1917 at Jackson, Michigan. The discharge shows that Noel took place in the following battles: St Michael Offensial, Argonne, and Verlund. On his discharge he received back pay of $73.00 which included a $60.00 government bonus. His dischaged papers were registered in the Jackson, Mi. records (Soldiers Discharge) Liber 3 page 443. His service number was 22542. He served in the 91st Aero Squadron. Dad also told me that prior to his enlistment in the US Army that Noel had served in France in the French Foreign Legion fighting the Germans until the US entered the war.
