Ronald "Tom" Thomas Bastian, 73, of Alden Road in Claremont, NH, passed away on August 19, 2014 at Valley Regional Hospital after a long courageous battle with illness.
He was born in Claremont, NH on April 1, 1941 the son of Arthur and Barbara (Straw) Bastian.
He was a graduate of Stevens High School in the class of 1959.
Tom had worked for Fellows Corporation in Springfield, VT, Costa Tool & Gage Corporation in Claremont and owned and operated Bastian Machine Company of Unity.
He served in the US Navy from 1959 to 1963.
Tom had been the President of the NH Antique Tractor Club. He had enjoyed hunting, fishing, photography and antique tractors. He will be missed dearly.
The family includes two daughters, Wendy O'Connell and her husband, Joseph of White River Junction, VT and Kelly Hooper and her husband, Richard of Newport; a son, Eric "Nip" Bastian of Unity; 3 grandchildren, Leon Morin, Jeffrey Morin, Jr. and Kayla West; 3 great grandchildren; 3 brothers, Arthur, Russell and Brian Bastian also his ex-wife, Carol Eddy of Charlestown and his beloved pets, Rita and Treo.
Family and friends may call at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont on Monday, August 25th from 5 to 7PM.
Burial will be held privately in Center Cemetery.
