(Research of Pamela Clem on ancestry.com) John was a constable in Green Twps in the 1840s from Justice Peace records In1855 John left Ohio for Hennepin Co. Minnesota Hamburg twps later called Media. Johns parents came to Greene in 1821 from West Salem Twp Mercer Pennsylvania. John was elected to the 6th Legislature of the state of Minn. He was also appointed to the Hennepin Co. Grand Jury and was probably on the school board inGreene . Was Postmaster inLong Lake. All 5 boys of Sally served in the CivilWar. The 4 older boys signed up with the 3rd regiment of Minn.Wilbur was only16 but lied and was in the 2nd regiment of sharpshooter and was seriously wounded at two of the bloodiest battles of the war Antietam and Gettysburg.They belonged to the Presbyterian church in Long Lake. John was a trustee of the church 7 Oct 1871.John had a step sister Sarah Jane Cowden. John died 4 Sept 1880 in Grandview, Lyon Minn. and is buried next to his grand daughter Viena Coleman daughter of son Wilbur Lot #7 of block# 18 in the city of Marshall.
