Margaret Straw, age 90 of Nebraska City, NE passed away on Monday; July 11, 2016 at St. Mary's Hospital in Nebraska City.
She was born on April 9, 1926 at Nebraska City, NE; the daughter of Burton LeRoy and Nellie Gay (Brust) Straw. She attended country school at District #33 School.
Margaret worked at the former Ocomo Foods, Applemans Sewing Factory, Nebraska Outerwear and Pendleton Woolen Mills - all in Nebraska City. She was a long-time member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Nebr. City. She was a talented seamstress and was well known for the many Barbie Doll clothes she made over the years. She also loved to crochet, and collect teapots and spoons. Margaret volunteered many hours at Friends of Faith Store in Nebr. City.
She is survived by her nieces and nephews: Judy Sherbeck of Ravenna, NE, Lorraine King of Sheridan, WY, Billie Harnden of Glenrock, WY, Janet Gable of Phoenix, AZ, Virginia Jackson of Texas, Margie Whitehead and husband Richard of Sidney, IA, Terry Straw and wife Laurie of Omaha, NE, Sandie Vodicka and husband Dennis of Nebr. City, NE and Phil Straw and wife Deb of Denver, CO; numerous great, great-great and great-great-great nieces and nephews; other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers: Jack Straw, Roy Straw, Fred Straw, and Lloyd "Pud" Straw.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday afternoon (7/16) at 2:00 p.m. at Gude Mortuary in Nebr. City with Rev. Michael Schmidt of the First Christian Church officiating.
