(81) died December 9, 2007. Retired to Tucson from Omaha with husband Don in 1982. In Tucson, Dorothy remained an active volunteer, with a full life despite physical limitations. She served her Tucson Meadows community as newsletter editor, singles lunch chair, and social coordinator for outings. Dorothy helped to found and served on the Board of a foundation that provided services to hundreds of patients with Multiple Sclerosis. Preceded in death by husband, Don and sister Josephine Montag, Dorothy is survived by her friend and companion, Emory Taylor of Tucson, brother Burt Straw of Omaha, children and their families Debbie (Tucson), Dale (Diane), Dan (Aleta), Dixie (Charles) Catlett, nine grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Funeral serviceburial was in Omaha December 15, 2007. Celebration of life MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held Wednesday, December 19, 007 at 200 p.m., Tucson Meadows Clubhouse, 2121 S. Pantano Rd., Tucson. MUNHALL-Dorothy Elaine (Straw), (81), passed away December 9th. Dorothy and husband Don graduated from Omaha's North High, raised a family in the Keystone neighborhood, then retired to Arizona, trading snowy winters for the beauty of desert & mountains surrounding Tucson.
Dorothy served as an active PTA officer for the Nebraska State PTA Association and for several area schools including West Maple Elementary, Boyd Elementary and J.P. Lord schools. She was active in the Douglas County Extension, and was an unflappable 4-H club leader. In Tucson, Dorothy remained an active volunteer. She helped to establish and served on the Board of a foundation that provided ongoing services to hundreds of patients living with Multiple Sclerosis.
Dorothy is preceded in death by parents Josephine and Henry Straw; husband, Don; and sister, Jo Montag. She is survived by her friend and companion, Emory Taylor of Tucson; brother Burt Straw of Omaha, children and their families: Dale/Diane, Dan/Aleta, Debbie, and Dixie/Charles Catlett, 9 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren.

Dorothy married Donald Melvin Munhall in Apr 1945 in Omaha, Douglas County, Nebraska. (Donald Melvin Munhall was born on 10 Dec 1922 in Anacortes, Skagit County, Washington, USA, died on 15 Sep 1990 in Tucson, Pima County, Arizona and was buried in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in Omaha, Nebraska.)
