Adolph LaRoche
Another name for Adolph was Adolph Stone. General Notes: Research of Jane O'Connor Foster - His place of birth in Quebec Province, Canada is unknown. His parents were married in Boucherville, Quebec. He came to the States sometime around 1865 and settled in Troy, NY on 4th Street (per Troy City Directory). Adolph had anglicized his surname to "STONE" as was the common practice of the day. At least 8 children were born to them although his grand daughter Mary Adele Galvin Foster claims he and his wife had 2 boys and 10 girls. Adolph was a cabinet maker and was said to have made all the cabinetry in the old Troy City Hall (which has since burned down ) He died at his residence 103 25th Street in Watervliet, NY. He was survived by his wife and daughters: Elizabeth (Mrs. Franci X. Breault); Clara (Mrs. Thomas Lane); Agnes (Mrs. John Galvin); Marie Stone and Adele Stone. Also survived by sons: Edward and Leo Stone. One son Adolph Jr is deceased. He was buried from Sacred Heart Of Mary Church in Watervliet, NY at 9AM on 25 Sept 1911. He is also survived by cousins with surname of Bouchard. Adolph married Adele Patenaude, daughter of Eustache Patenaude and Adelaid Lamoureux, on 14 Oct 1862 in Longueuil, Quebec Province, Canada. (Adele Patenaude was born on 28 Feb 1848 in Quebec, Canada and died on 10 Feb 1917 in Cohoes, Albany County, New York.) |
