Jean E. Porter was born May 27, 1928 in Wathena, Kansas to Jacob E. and Blanche (Euler) Liechti. She graduated from Benton High School in St. Joseph.
On September 11, 1955 she married William T. Porter. They became parents of two daughters.
Jean passed away on Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at an Overland Park, Kansas care center at the age of 85.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and twin sister, June Wildhagen.
She is survived by her daughters, Mona Bradley of Maryville, Mo. and Amy Porter of Shawnee, Kan.; one brother, George Liechti of St. Joseph; two granddaughters; and one great grandchild.
Services will be held on Friday, Oct. 4, 2013 at 11:00 am at the Chamberlain Funeral Home in Mound City. Family will greet friends one hour prior to services. Interment will be at Mount Hope Cemetery.
Jean married William Tyson Porter, son of Jesse Clay Porter and Mona Kennish Tyson, on 11 Sep 1955 in St. Joseph, Buchanan County, Missouri. (William Tyson Porter was born on 13 Jul 1921 in Noyes Hospital in St. Joseph, Buchanan County, Missouri, died on 27 Jun 2009 and was buried in Mount Hope Cemetery in Mound City, Missouri.)
