John Tyson married Catherine Sawrey (daughter of John).

Perhaps there is another place here where I should put in all the particulars I have? I'll look around the site some more while I'm here this morning. I do so much appreciate the url also! The one thing that is a constant is that (my) Myles Tyson lifetime was 1840 -1928. The Myles Tyson in your info would have been a contemporary of my Myles' children since it appears that my Myles and Catherine birthed their first child in 1875 here in Canada.



Brimmerhead listing 15 March 1974 1574 and 1870. Reputedly the oldest house in Grasmere.. White-washed stone rubble, slate roof, 2 storeys. New end added 1870, with a bay window. Front has centre door, 2 windows on ground floor and 3 above, all with wooden mullions, and 2 small gablets over upper windows. The later portion to the left has a gable, bay window and an upper window with labels. Farm building adjoins to right under same roof (shippons belay, loft above ). Traces of original external stairs. Interior has very low ceiling beams and oak panelling in present kitchen. Stairs mid-Cl7, with treads and panelling and turned balusters with Roman numbering. A blocked old window visible inside, and an oak chest dated 1637. Old ladder still extant inside the original C16 kitchen. John married Jennie Cookson, daughter of William Cookson and Dorothy Crackenthorpe. (Jennie Cookson was born in 1770 in England.)
