Merle J. Straw born 8-8-1907 in Kansas and died 7-26-1977 in Bradenton, Manatee Co., Florida. A long time Navy man he was cremated and his ashes scrattered at sea. He died without any next of kin in Florida.
The state hire a genealogical firm to locate family on his mother and father's side for his estate. My mother was contacted.
Effie remarried by 1920 to Charles McAllister and was living in New York State. Merle's estate records stated she later married a Hugh Smith. Have not found her burial site. [research of Eva Myrick]
