HANNAH3 GROVER, daughter of John and Sarah2 (Barney) Grover,
was born November 9, 1662 in Salem, and died about 1751. She married, May
27, 1684, Hazadiah Smith, son of James and Elizabeth (-) Smith, of Wool-
wich, Maine, born about 1659, died June 21, 1735 at Beverly, Mass. Hannah
(Grover) Smith was admitted to the church at Beverly on March 1, 1702. She
received dower settlement from her husband's estate March 22, 1736, and
divided among her heirs on Sept. 16, 175 1. On April 4, 1692, "Hisadiah
Smith of Beverly" and wife Hannah receive of Jacob Barney of Salem, for
the money, cattle and timber left Hannah by her grandfather Jacob Barney
(Salem Registry of Deeds).Hazadiah Smith was a carpenter; in 1690 he was
a member of the expedition to Crown Point. Their children are verified by
mention in the settlement of Hazadiah Smith's estate:

information on five generations of descendants of No. 56 Hannah' Smith
who married Nehemiah Porter. This letter is from Miss Juliet Porter of
No. I Hudson St., Worcester, Mass., and is dated Sept. 2, 1922. Mr.
Preston did not include this information
in his manuscript, but I am taking the liberty of including it here.-]
No. 56 Hannah'Smith, b. Oct. 28, 1690; md. Nehemiah Porter. They had
eight children, including -
Samuel' Porter who married Sarah -; one of their children was -
Samuel' Porter who married Martha Perley; one of their children was -
Nehemiah' Porter, born Sept. 18, 1775 at Bradford, Mass.; died
August 27, 1853 at Manchester, N.H.
He married, May 31, 1801, Lois Gragg who was born in Sept. 1780; died
April 5, 1845, the daughter of
Reuben and Betty (Carleton) Gragg. One of their children was -
Pierce' Porter, born July 21, 1809 at Raymond, Maine; died Sept. 6,
1894 at Hooksett, N. H. He married,first, June 10, 1833 at Smoskeag,
N.H., Mary Ann Brown, the daughter of Joseph and Susanna (Holman)Brown.
She was born at Kensington, N.H. August 4, 1804 and died at Hooksett,
N.H. May 4, 1853. Pierce
Porter married, second, October 1856, Josephine Louisa Baker, daughter of
Silas and Dorothy (Templeton)Baker of Holliston, Mass.

Hannah married Hezediah Smith on 27 May 1684. (Hezediah Smith was born in 1659 in Woolwich, Maine and died on 21 Jun 1735 in Beverly, Essex County, Massachusetts.)
