MRS. KITTY FRIES DIED SUNDAY
Following an illness of several months, Mrs. Kittie Fries, was called from earthly ills early Sunday morning, March 10th. Early last spring, Mrs. Fries suffered a paralytic stroke. All through the months she had been a patient sufferer and the past few weeks, it seemed that she was considerable improved. However, Sunday evening she became worse and before morning, had left for a heavenly home.
Few people there are, who had the experience of Mrs. Fries. She was born at the old Gills home, where she was married and lived and died.
Kittie Gillis, daughter of Edward and Emanda Moore Gillis, was born February 14, 1884, and departed this life at te old home near Mound City, about noon Sunday, March 10th.
She had been a patient sufferer for many months and will be greatly missed by many relatives and friends whom her ceaseless love and devotion had greatly blessed.
She was united in marriage to Louis Fries, March 30, 1904. Her husband and four sisters preceded her in death. The deceased were: Mrs. Clara Frazier, Miss Debbie Gillis, Mrs. Francis-Aesdale and Mrs. Sadie Asedale.
She leaves to mourn her loss two sisters, Mrs. Charlie Skeels, of Mound City and Mrs. Bettie Shellenberger, of Ransom, Kansas, and one brother, George B. Gillis, of Mound City, 8 nephews, 6 nieces, and a host of other relatives and friends.
When a young woman she united with the Christian Church, and has been a devout Christian through the years. Her's was a practical Christianity that caused her to sacrifice that she might be a blessing to others and she was ever mindfull of the widows, the orphans and those less frtunate in life than herself.
Funeral services were held at the home march 12th, at two o'clock, conducted by her pastor, Dessie Kimberlin. Interment was made Wednesday mornig at 9:30 in the Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Those from out of town attending the services were: Mrs. Charles Shellenberger, of Ransom, Kansas; Mr. & Mrs. roy Kunsman, of Wildona, Colorado; Mrs. harry Pease, of North Platte, nebraska; Katherine Skeels, of St. Joseph, Mo.
