This answers the question of why there is no marker here for such a distinguished figure.
From public records
In the 1880 census, he is found with his wife Eva and 5 daughters in Springfield Township.
From a list of veteran burials we have "Co. I. 11 Reg. Minn. Inf."
In the 1909 plat map for Springfield Twp., P W Moore is still listed as the owner of sec 34 which is the land on which Springfield Township Cemetery sits.
The 1978 reading does not list a headstone with his name, however.
The sexton's lot map shows his name on the left just below the crest of the hill but there is no marker there.

Presbury married Eva Delina Freemire. (Eva Delina Freemire was born in Nov 1841 in New York.)
