She married Pearl Clark on July 10, 1915 in Upper Sanduskey, Wyandot Co. Ohio. From this union they had nine children. She past away on Dec 30, 1998 in Marion, Ohio she married Asmussen after Pearl passed.

Goldie's parents were Sidney Channell and Ada Rizor. Goldie was a child out of wed lock and Sidney's parents had already choosen his a wife and they would have nothing to do with Ada and his child. Ada would marry Zek Dawson when Goldie would be about 12 or so. This is when she would take the Dawson name. Ada was d/o Jonathan and Matilda (Burris) Rizor
