KINGSPORT, Tenn. - Erma Roby Damon, 89, died Wednesday, April 9, 2008, at Asbury Place, Steadman Hill Campus in Kingsport, Tenn. She was the wife of Donald Damon.
She was born in North Woodstock, N.H., one of seven children of Fay Roby and Sadie Straw Roby.
Mrs. Damon was a homemaker for many years, and later she worked for Millipore in Bedford.
After retirement, she and husband moved to Palm Bay, Fla. in 1979, to enjoy their golden years together until he died in 1993. In 2007, she relocated to southwest Virginia to live with her son.
While living in Massachusetts she was a member of the First Church of Christ, Congregational in Bedford. She was also a long time member of East minister Presbyterian Church in India Atlanta, Fla.
She is survived by her son, Bruce Damon, and wife, Loretta, of Gate City, Va.; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was prede-ceased by two daughters and a son.
Services will be held at a later date at her burial in the family cemetery plot in the Shawsheen Cemetery in Bedford.
The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff at Asbury Place and the Adventa Hospice Services.
