research of B. Moody via e-mail - Hisory of Stowe pub. SHSocty 1963, pg 170 FRED E. SMITH, born in Stowe September 18, 1869 went into business with his father, L.(emuel) B. SMITH, at Moscow as L.B. Smith and Son manufacturing lumber products. He purchased the property in 1900 and manufactured parchment lined butter boxes. Then he went into the parcel handle business for which he invented much of the machinery himself. The plant had a capacity of 100,000 handles a day. He held a number of town offices and represented Stowe in the legislature in1908. [Note: Fred E. Smith , son of Lemuel E. Smith and 2nd wife Nancy]

Lemuel married Aurilla Moody, daughter of John Moody Sr and Rebecca Cady. (Aurilla Moody was born on 24 Dec 1818 in Stowe, Lamoille County, Vermont and died on 12 Jan 1861 in Stowe, Lamoille County, Vermont.)
