Alvis Lloyd Pense, 95, of Van Buren died Friday, June 27, 2008, in a local nursing home. He was retired from the Frisco Railroad and the Corps of Engineers WPA workers and a native of Crawford County. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Shirley; two brothers, Paul and Earl Pense; and two sisters, Flossie Winberry and Freda London.
Alvis married Shirley Moore on 18 Sep 1937 in Arkansas. (Shirley Moore was born on 28 Sep 1919, died on 30 Oct 1995 and was buried in Conley Cemetery in Mountainburg, Arkansas.)
