In Loving Memory JoAnne Straw April 2, 1958 - February 11, 2015 JoAnne, it's been a year since your passing, and you are still missed very much. It seems like yesterday, but yet it seems so much longer. No matter how many years pass, you'll live on in our hearts as we remember the happier, healthier times. Thank you, JoAnne, for the memories. Your playful and generously loving spirit is now free. Enjoy. JoAnne was born April 2, 1958, in Greenbrae, CA, to Leonard Herbert and Ruth Marie Straw. She grew up in Marin County, moved to Maui, Hawaii for many years, then returned to California to be near family. While on Maui she attended cosmetology school and became a hairdresser. She loved the beauty of the islands and her many friends. She truly cared for the well-being of those around her. She connected strongly with the stray cats she adopted and was an exceptional foster mother to many kittens over the years. JoAnne left this world, February 11, 2015 at Santa Rosa Memorial, with her siblings at her side. She is survived by her sister, Leah Bresee (husband Steve) of Sonoma County, CA; her brothers, David Straw and Henry Straw, both of Marin County, CA; her brother, Robert Straw of Nevada; her nephews, Justin Bresee of Washington, Darren Bresee of California, Michael Straw of Nevada; her niece, Kendra Straw of Nevada; her longtime partner, Edward Eyberg of Sonoma County; and several cousins on the East Coast.
