STRAW-Ruth "Fern" Straw, died peacefully March 14, 2006 after fighting cancer courageously for more than 25 years. She was born in West Flint Michigan in. 1932. After graduating magna cum laude from Olivet Nazarene College, with a degree in Elementary Education, she married Hubert Straw Jr. in 1954. She made Azusa her home since 1960. Fern was a beloved first grade teacher in both public and private Christian schools. A gifted musician, she made family, friends and students happy by pla ying the piano by ear. A lifelong Christian, Fern taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School, sang in the choir, and served on the Church Board of Glendora Church of the Nazarene. She was married 47 years when Hugh died in 2001. She is survived by her brother, Don (Doris) Winne, daughters Teresa (Mike) Bolt, Karen (Tony) Coe and Valerie Straw, and 5 grandchildren, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly. She was a wonderful mother and wife. She touched many lives with the lo ve of God. Visitation: Friday, March 17th 5:00PM-8:00PM: Custer Christiansen 363 W. Alosta (route 66) Glendora, CA 91741.
