Bernice C. Jones, 96, of Gloversville, New York, passed away July 11, 2015, at Nathan Littauer Hospital Nursing Home, Gloversville, New York. She was born on December 19, 1918, in Lincoln, Vermont, daughter of the late Julius and Nellie Bennett Lathrop.
Bernice was a very hard worker; she was employed by Robison & Smith for over 50 years. She enjoyed shopping, reading and watching TV with her twin sister, Vernice; they were inseparable.
Bernice is survived by a daughter, Sheryl V. Edwards of Schenectady; two grandchildren, Stacey Santanski and Tammy Insognia; great-grandchildren, RJ Santanski, Justin Santanski, Jake Santanski, Nicholas Insognia and Andy Insognia. She is also survived by nieces Karyl (Bob) Johnson and Sharon (Mike) Pustolka.
She was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Howard Jones; siblings, George Lathrop and her identical twin, Vernice Reed and sister, Edna Jablonski.
A funeral service was held at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville on July 14, 2015, with the Rev. Christopher Hamm. Burial will take place at Prospect Hill Cemetery in Gloversville.
Bernice married Howard Jones. (Howard Jones was born in 1919 and died in 1979.)
