He worked from Marysville, was educated in Marysville School System. Due to declining health and also the health of his wife Nina M. (McCown) Straw, they moved in to assisted living at Kinkora Home, (Knights Of Pythias) in Duncannon. He was a Retired Police officer for the Pennsylvania Railroad and served in the United States Army in World War II. He was a former Mayor of Marysville; a life member of the VFW Post #882, Marysville; Perry Lodge #458, F&AM, Marysville, and Bethany United Methodist Church, Marysville. Margaret Straw, Katharine Straw, both of New York, NY, Andrew Knight and Rhea Knight both of Washington, D.C. Services were private and at the convience of the family. Burial was at Perry Heights Cemetery, Marysville. Barney will be sorely missed. He was one of the few people who had the talent of storytelling. He could keep your interest no matter how long the story. If he was your friend he was a friend for life. He could had many stories of his life in Marysville. His health was failing in the past years and I'm sure he is better now.
