David Hoadley, 77, of Creston, died Sun. Nov. 12, 2006 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.
Services will be 10:30 am Wednesday, November 15, 2006 at Powers Funeral Home in Creston.
Burial will be in the Greenfield Cemetery in Greenfield.
Military rites will be by the Theodore J. Martens VFW Post #1797 of Creston.
Open visitation will be 2-8:00 pm Tuesday with family receiving friends from 6-8 pm.Tuesday at Powers Funeral Home in Creston.

David W. Hoadley was born August 30, 1929 in Adair County to Clara Ellen (Hager) and Raymond Nelson Hoadley. He attended school in Lee Center. David served in the Korean War and moved to Creston in 1957 from Adair County.
On November 10, 1962 he was united in marriage to Mary Andersen in Creston. David operated the Sinclair and Skelly stations in Creston, worked for the Creston Street Dept. and as a Dragline Snowplow equipment operator for the DOT (Department of Transportation), retiring in September 1992.
David loved to camp and was an avid Iowa Hawkeye and Chicago Cubs fan. He was a lifetime member of the Creston Veteran of Foreign Wars, former member of the Creston Jaycees and a member of the Bowling Association Hall of Fame.
David is survived by his wife Mary Hoadley of Creston; daughter Deborah S. (husband Frank) Miller of Washington, Ia.; son David D. (special friend Carol Thomas) Hoadley of Creston; 3 stepsons Howard (wife Kelli) Straw of California; Ricky Straw of Red Oak and Douglas Straw of Texas; two sisters Maxine (husband Bill) Fulton of West Des Moines; and Marge (husband Russ) Reasland of Creston; a sister-in-law: Irma Hoadley of Stuart; four grandchildren; four step grandchildren; several step-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother George Hoadley and one sister Mary Pyrune.
