GOSHEN -- Lois Irene Collins, 75, died at 9:20 p.m. Wednesday (March 10, 2010) at Elkhart General Hospital.
She was born Dec. 23, 1934, in Goshen to Herbert and Goldie Lucille (Fissgus) Straw.
She had lived all of her life in Elkhart County and worked at Elkhart Door Mfg. as a punch press operator. She retired in 1996. She attended First Baptist Church of Goshen.
Lois is survived by one daughter, Pamela (George) Gama of Goshen; two sons, James Edward Collins Jr. and Garry Lee (Renee) Collins of Elkhart; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Erma Mae Gross of Nappanee and Lucy (Tom) Kurtz of Elkhart. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Doris Ann Collins; one sister, Mary Sue Gay; and five brothers, Carl Dean, Wayne Ray, Joseph J., Charles Daniel and Hughbert Straw Jr.
Family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, where a service will be at 1 p.m. with the Rev. James Shrock of First Baptist Church officiating.
