Mary Powell Porter Straw, 97, of Spring Valley died Jan. 2. She was born in Dutch Valley, Tenn., and was an elementary school teacher.
She was a violinist with the San Diego Symphony and a member of the First Baptist Church of Bostonia in El Cajon.
She is survived by her sisters, Eleanor Rowe of Spring Valley and Beth Myers of San Diego.
Services: 2 p.m. today, First Baptist Church of Bostonia, 1025 Second St., El Cajon.
