Rites in Oregon for Laura Fries-
"Mrs. Laura Lucille Fries, 64, of Oregon, Mo., died Friday, Dec. 2, in the University of Kansas Medical Center, Kansas City, Kan., after an extended illness.
Services were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 5, in the First Baptist Church, Oregon, with the Rev. Mike Nichols officiating. Interment was in Mount Hope Cemetery, Mound City.
Mrs. Fries was born Oct. 7, 1913, in Morrill, Ks., attended grade school there and high school in Sabetha. She also attended Cottey College in Nevada, Mo., and Kansas State University, Manhattan, and taught school 11 years in Fairview, Sabetha, and Blue Rapids, Kans. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Oregon, where she was organist until her illness.
She was a 45 year member of the Sapphire Chapter, Order of Eastern Star; and was past president of the Business and Professional Women's Club in Sabetha, and the PEO Sisterhood Chapters in Sabetha and Oregon. She was also a member of the Oregon Jolly Neighbors Club.
Her husband, Louie Fries, preceded her in death last January 23.
She is survived by her mother, Mrs. Flora Hopkins of Sabetha; one brother, R. Dan Hopkins, Tulsa, Okla. and a niece."

Laura married Louis Edward Fries, son of Elmer Edward Fries and Minnie Elizabeth Close. (Louis Edward Fries was born on 11 Jun 1909 in Atchinson County, Missouri, died on 9 Aug 1976 in Oregon, Missouri and was buried in Mount Hope Cemetery in Mound City, Missouri.)
