He was born May 22, 1910, near Skidmore, Mo. He was a lifelong resident of Atchison and Holt Counties. He was a retired farmer.
Surviving are five sons, Albert Fries Jr., Riverside, Mo., Edwin Fries, Kansas City, Mo., James Fries, Kansas City, Kan., John K. Fries, Cambridge, Neb., and Emmett Fries, Dodge City, Kan.; five daughters, Beverly Gilland and Carolyn Nowling, both of Craig, Mo., Joyce Luceck and Judith Dunn, both of Maryville, Mo., and Alberta R. Steeby, Mound City; four sisters, Grace Goeson and hazel Kriley, both of Kansas City, Mo., Pauline King, St. Joseph, and Rosa Fries, Rock Port, Mo.; three brothers, Russell Fries, Denver, Colo., Ernst Fries, Fairfax, Mo., and Robert Fries, Bolckow, Mo.; 37 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Pettijohn & Crawford Funeral Home in Mound City.
Burial will be in the Mount Hope Cemetery at Mound City. Friends may call anytime at the funeral home after 10 a.m. but the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 this evening at the funeral home chapel."
