Robert Edgar Fries Sr., 80, Bolckow, Mo., formerly of Kansas City, died April 8, 1993, at a hospital in Maryville, Mo. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. today at the Price Chapel, Maryville; burial in New Liberty Cemetery, Mound City, Mo.
Mr. Fries was born in Holt County, Mo., and lived in Kansas City for more than 30 years; he moved to Bolckow 25 years ago. He worked for the Kansas City Fire Department for 28 years; he retired as a driver.
He was a Baptist. Survivors include his wife, Arlene Fries, and a son, Robert E. Fries Jr., both of the home; four daughters, Nikia Schulte, Jefferson City, Niegel Jean Cooksey, Independence, Bobbie Kays, Harrisonville, and Betty Karr, King City, Mo.; two brothers, Russell Fries, Denver, and Ernest Fries, Fairfax, Mo.; a sister, Grace Goeson, Raytown; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

BARNARD, Mo. -- Gracie Lynn Fries, newborn daughter of Robert E., Jr. and Andrea (Hendricks) Fries of Barnard, Mo., was born Friday, March 1, 2002 in a Kansas City, Missouri hospital, where she spent twenty-seven minutes with her family before she died.
Her paternal grandfather, Robert E. Fries, Sr., preceded Gracie in death in 1993.
Additional survivors: sister, Hanna, of the home; maternal grandparents, Ivan and Betty Hendricks, Rosendale, Mo., Joe and Phyllis Weller, Ottumwa, Iowa; paternal grandmother, Arlene Fries, Bolckow, Mo.; and maternal great-grandparents, Criss and Doris Roach, and Wilma Hendricks, all of Savannah, Mo.
Graveside Services and Interment will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, New Liberty Cemetery, Mound City, Mo., under the direction of Breit & Hawkins Funeral Home, Savannah.
