Donna Leigh (Shaver) Caton was born in Rock Port, Missouri on March 25, 1927. She was one of two daughters of Otis E. and Nellie (Underwood) Shaver. Donna graduated from Rock Port High School.
On October 3, 1948 Donna married Chester Byron Caton in Rock Port. They became parents of two daughters. Donna and Chet lived and farmed in Mound City during their 63 years of marriage.
Donna passed away at a St. Joseph hospital on October 10, 2011 at the age of 84.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister, Margery MacFarland.
Survivors include her husband Chet, of Mound City; daughters Linda L. Caton and her friend Mark Russell of Gladstone, Missouri, and Cathy and her husband Bill Clay of Kansas City, Missouri; one grandson, William K. Clay of Denver, Colorado; and nieces and nephews, John, Stephen and Anita McCann, Doug MacFarland, and Janet Teague.
Donna had worked at the former Bank of Atchison County in Rock Port, and as a teacher's aide with the Mound City schools. Donna kept the financial books for Caton Farms, Inc. for many years.
She was a longtime member of the former First Presbyterian Church in Mound City, where she taught Sunday School for over 30 years. Donna was a member office holder of both the Order of the Eastern Star and PEO. Donna was an excellent seamstress, and enjoyed sewing.
Services will be held on Thursday, October 13, 2011 at 10:30 am at the Chamberlain Funeral Home in Mound City. A private family inurnment will be held at the Mount Hope Cemetery

Donna married Chester Byron Caton, son of Chester Clinton Caton and Mabel Nauman, on 3 Oct 1848 in Rock Port, Atchison County, Missouri. (Chester Byron Caton was born on 20 Sep 1918 in Missouri.)
