I have just started to research my Forbes family. My ggggrandfather Alfred Forbes born in Vermont or Mass. September 08, 1788 and died in Iowa, Van Buran Co. April 10, 1870. He and his wife Zulina (born October 25, 1792 Vermont died October 30, 1880 Iowa) moved out to Iowa from McKean, PA in the early 1840's. In the census records, he is a Physician (1850) then a Justice of the peace (1860). When he died, his wife (maiden name may have been Bell) went to live with one of their sons Elwin P. that was living in Missouri. Later she moved to her daughters home in Iowa (Almeda Henkle) and was documented as Zatawa. There are some indication that Alfred left others of his family in Corydon, Warren, Pennsylvania. His other children appear to be Jarvis and Belvin. Belvin had a daughter named Alfreda and was married to Isaac Williams. I'm looking for others that may have researched or know anthing of this family

Alfred married Zulina Zatawa Bell. (Zulina Zatawa Bell was born on 25 Oct 1792 in Vermont, died on 30 Oct 1880 in Pleasanr, Appanoose County, Iowa and was buried in Friendship Cemetery in Omaha, Putnam County, Missouri.)
