headstone is in the same family plot as William's father, William T. Freeman. The site is located very near Maine Street (Route 1A) in York Beach and is on the property once called the Hepzy-Freeman House. George Ernst wrote in "New England Miniature" p. 240 That Hepsibah inherited the farm from her grandfather Richard Talpey. This was all the land on the seaward side of US Rte 1A from Short Sands Beach to the Cape Neddick River - called the Union Bluff. Freeman Street was named for Hepzibah Talpey Freeman.
