"This is for everybody looking at the Joel Parson(s) line -- his wife's last name was not Wallard, but rather Millard. She was born abt 1828 in Canada, parents Gideon Millard (b abt 1800 in Rensselaer Co New York) and Nancy Thisberry (b Canada). Nancy died in Illinois and I believe Gideon remarried and moved west, leaving his children in Boone Co, Illinois. These children were scattered between at least four families; Joel and Louisa took in her two youngest siblings, Sarah and Riley. You can find them in Boone Twp, Boone Co, Illinois, 1850. I was tracking down Riley some months ago, since he was in my great-grandfather William Wheeler's household in 1880 and appears to be a cousin. I found the Millards and the statement that Louisa Millard married Joel Parsons in a book on early Boone County settlers, but can't immediately put my hands on the pages I photocopied"

Louisa married Joel Parson, son of Mathias Parson and Jane Hillman, on 7 Apr 1850 in Belvedere, Boone County, Illinois. (Joel Parson was born on 22 Jul 1823 in Montgomery County, Ohio, died on 28 Sep 1908 in Nashua, Chickasaw, Iowa and was buried in Richland Township Cemetery in Chickasaw County, Iowa.)
